It was hard to come up with a name for this blog, but then my boyfriend, T, reminded me of this Dilbert cartoon from a few weeks (months? my sense of time is always really off) ago. Now, this is not because I’m a shallow bimbo who only talks about my hair (although there are people out there who may argue this,) but it does a good job of illustrating how completely OCD I can get about things, like painting 8 different colors of yellow in my bathroom and leaving them there for 4 months while I decide which one I like the best.
Moral of the story: there is always a browner brown out there, and I will find it.
A little more about me: I did two years of art school and then two years of creative writing at a liberal arts school for college, and realized I like both equally. Since July 2006 I’ve lived with my boyfriend in the lower half of a duplex in Oakland, CA. I love our apartment, our neighborhood, and our city. I drive T. crazy because I’m constantly wanting to change a light fixture or paint a wall, and he thinks I’m insane for spending so much time/energy fixing a rental, but I’m a firm believer in making your space reflect you, and love walking in the door at the end of the day and feeling happy not just to be home, but to be in my particular home.
