Oh my, I almost forgot to post tonight. So I don’t really have any pictures or anything planned (although I have a post for tomorrow all mapped out, just not the energy to write it all up right now.) I mentioned a few days ago that T. has finally relented and is going to allow me to paint his office – yay! So while running errands tonight we stopped and picked up some paint swatches. We’re thinking brown, and it’s night right now so this is a horrible photo, but here are some choices we’re considering:
Oh, did I say dark brown? Honestly, I’m a little intimidated, I’ve never painted a room this dark of a color before. And a little worried because pretty much all the furniture in there is brown or black. Hmmm. So, we’re going to think about this a bunch before making any sort of decision.

I have a chocolate brown bathroom and I love it. You just have to get past the first week of thinking it’s like a cave.
Or, if you’re still nervous, could you paint two walls in the chocolate and two in cream?
In my last apartment I did what Barb is suggesting — painted two walls of my bedroom deep chocolate brown and two a paler shade, almost cafe au lait. It wasn’t too dark–it looked fabulous. And matte, dark paint does a great job at covering up imperfections in your walls. You should go for it!
Hi Elizabeth,
We just finished painting our bedroom dark brown. I thought you might be curious to see the results:

All the best,

You’ll love it. Mark Hampton painted a room Coca-Cola brown and it look great (in a painting). I tried to create the same color for our kitchen but it came out somewhere between dark brown and eggplant (with a celery colored trim). And I love that, too! In fact we painted it five years ago and just repainted it the same color!
