I got an e-mail from Anisha at Saffron Marigold this morning, telling me about their hand-crafted block-printed textiles. I love these pillow cases, and am thinking that we might have to get some of them for the window seats at the beach house.
ps. check out the photo illustrated explanation of their process here, it’s actually [...]
did everyone see my post on AT:SF yesterday? I wrote about the amazing Mill Valley store Ambatalia – they specialize in sustainable fabric. If you want to check it (the post) out, click here.
My mom has been cleaning out closets at her house lately, and yesterday she stopped by my house (we live a mile away from each other) with these embroidered linens, made by my great-grandmother and/or one of my mom’s great aunts (my mom doesn’t remember exactly, but thinks that my aunt might, so I have [...]
I made this embroidery piece for T. sometime during the first year we were dating. I finally got around to re-framing it yesterday, now it lives on top of the built-ins under the window in the living room.
Australian artist Lara Cameron designs and sells limited edition hand printed fabric through her etsy shop, Kirin & Co. Click here to see her full range of beautiful designs and colorways. I love small batch fabric, and Lara’s stuff is reasonably priced at $11 per 50cm (20in) making these designs completely within reach.
I love this new colorway of Mod Green Pod’s Grand Jubilee pattern – available as fabric and wallpaper. To add to the goodness, it’s all organic and non-toxic. I’m thinking this would make some very cute throw pillows . . .
I’ve been browsing around Martha’s new site and loving it, although they still have some work to do with updating their archives (I’ve run across more than a few broken links.) I stumbled across these lovely little embroidery patterns of state birds – 29 in all (apparently some states share birds, and oh, can anyone [...]
I’ve been looking for a rug for our bedroom for a long time. I almost bought one from West Elm, but was foiled by my inability to use my gift certificate online (they’ve since changed this. Hmm . . .) My biggest problem is finding something in my price range, as rugs are shockingly expensive. [...]
The textiles from local (Bay Area) company India Rose are amazing. The White on White apron ($24) and Slacker Tea Towels ($25 for 2) are especially beautiful – elegance added to function.
