reading list

a random shelf from my unorganized bookcases

I’m what some would call an avid reader. If left to my own devices I would probably fall asleep with a book in my hands every night (T. prevents this from happening, but when he’s out of town I often wake up in the middle of the night to find the bedside light on and a book somewhere in bed with me.) And despite having a crazy schedule I manage to get through about a book a week, and tend to have multiple books going at once.

Anyways, I thought I would start writing here about what I’m reading, partially because I’ve been noticing more and more people lately, in real life and in the blog world, asking for book recommendations. Also, because it’s my blog, and I can write about what I want to, right?

I’m a pretty indiscriminate reader, but lately have been reading lots of contemporary fiction and essays, and environmental and food related non-fiction. But honestly, I’m just kind of a word whore, and there’s not much out there I won’t read if given the chance.

So, right now I’m thinking poetry on Fridays (coming next) and books on Mondays. Let’s see how this goes.
